Borage is an annual plant that belongs to the borage family. It is characterized by blue flowers in the shape of a five-pointed star with an intense scent of cucumbers. The vegetable raw material is cold-pressed borage seeds, from which the oil is extracted. It is a rich source of omega-6 polyunsaturated fatty acids. The most important of these is gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), the content of which in the oil is 16-27% .

Gamma-linolenic acid is a source of essential fatty acids (EFA). The name of these acids is related to the need to get them with food, since their synthesis does not take place in the human body. EFAs are also known as the essential vitamin F in the diet, which comes from the English word "Fatty Acids".

The scope of GLA largely depends on the form of APPLICATION . For external APPLICATION , it penetrates only into the horny layer of the epidermis and fills the intercellular space. When administered orally, it crosses more barriers and penetrates the dermis.* The preparation has been fortified with vitamin E, which helps protect DNA, proteins and lipids from oxidative damage.
