Magnesium sulfate is an inorganic salt containing magnesium, sulfur and oxygen, with the chemical formula MgSO4, it occurs as a white crystal that is easily soluble in water.

Epsom salt, commonly used to soak tired bodies or feet in warm water, refers to magnesium sulfate.

Trivia:

In the past it was used as a coagulant in the making of jellies as the magnesium ions in the Epsom salt plays a role in the making of the jelly gel. Epsom salt is still used today as a coagulant in curdling the soybean water in tofu.

The name Epsom salts comes from the name of a bitter well in England, after two Dutch diplomats first discovered it in 1629, they said: "It is a much cheaper and easier way to cure various diseases in the body than the hot spring that has become widely known to the general public, and urged the king to use them instead of "present water".

Epsom salts , also known as magnesium salts, contain naturally occurring magnesium, sulfur and oxygen. The crystal structure is similar to that of ordinary salt. The difference from regular salt is that it has a bitter taste and is not suitable for cooking. Epsom salt is primarily used for therapeutic and detoxifying purposes.

Agricultural use:

Magnesium sulphate is used in magnesium-poor soils such as soil for long and intensive use of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium fertilizers. On the other hand, it is used in plants that need more magnesium, such as fruit trees, vegetables, cotton, legumes, and peanuts. Due to its quick effect, magnesium sulphate is particularly suitable for use on neutral and alkaline soils.

In aquaculture:

In aquaculture, humans use magnesium sulfate - MgSO4 to supplement magnesium in ponds with shrimp, fish and other aquatic animals. Quickly compensates for Mg deficiency for aqueous products at all stages of development as it quickly dissolves in water as it is quickly and efficiently absorbed.

In the industry:

Magnesium sulfate - MgSO4 is used as a raw material for the production of animal feed or micronutrients. In addition, printing inks, dyes and even disinfectants etc. can also be produced.

Magnesium sulfate - MgSO4 is also used in the treatment of waste water from many different industries with the effect of neutralization, pH stabilization, electroplating, use in the paper industry, animal feed production, fertilizer production.

In the medical industry, magnesium sulphate is used to relieve muscle pain associated with swelling in humans or to make laxatives.

Storage conditions:

Chemical magnesium sulfate - MgSO4 is relatively harmless in direct contact, so in the contact procedure it is enough to wear gloves and a mask.

Chemical Magnesium Sulfate - MgSO4 should be stored separately from food for humans and animals, especially out of the reach of children.

Store in a cool, dry place, avoid moisture, direct sunlight, air or high air moisture bone.
