Iron helps in the proper production of red blood cells and hemoglobin. It also contributes to the maintenance of normal psychological and immune system function. It also reduces the feeling of tiredness and exhaustion. Vitamin C increases the absorption of iron.
PRENACAPS FERR C is intended for women planning a pregnancy, pregnant and breastfeeding. The product contains 28 mg of iron and vitamin C, which increases absorption. Thanks to the plant-based pullulan capsule, it is suitable for vegetarians and vegans.
The product does not contain, among other things, artificial fillers, preservatives, sweeteners.
The Polish Gynecological Society team recommends iron supplementation for women trying to conceive, pregnant or breastfeeding who are at risk of a deficiency of this component. If you want to have children, the recommended dose is at least 18 mg, during pregnancy 26-27 mg and during breastfeeding 20 mg.
During pregnancy, the need for iron is higher due to the needs of the mother and the developing baby needs to be met baby, placenta and increasing hemoglobin mass, especially in the second and third trimesters of pregnancy. In breastfeeding mothers, the increased requirement is associated with the need to cover iron losses with the secreted milk.
Iron deficiency during pregnancy can have very serious consequences, such as anemia, reduced fetal growth, immunity disorders, poor concentration and physical fitness, poor memory fetus. It can also lead to preterm labor.
