Wild garlic, also known as witch's onion or gypsy's garlic, is a plant from the amaryllis family that grows wild in moist deciduous forests. Already used in ancient Germania, it is found wild in Europe (it is also cultivated) and some regions of Asia.
The witch's onion is a plant valued for its taste, which is similar to traditional garlic, and its abundance of nutrients. Among other things, this inconspicuous plant fails due to its iron, phosphorus, magnesium, manganese, potassium, selenium, sulphur, calcium, vitamin C and vitamin B content.
Wild garlic is used in salads, cooked vegetables, meat and sandwiches. After grinding with salt and olive oil, it makes a delicious pesto.
