DESCRIPTION
- contains vitamins A, C and B
- a healthy addition to yoghurt or muesli
- strengthens joints and bones
Miechunka is a relatively new fruit for Europeans. It came from Colombia in the late 18th century, but is still difficult to come by in fresh, raw form today. Thanks to its delicate, paper-like wrapper, it is most commonly used to decorate cakes and banquet dishes. It is also sometimes called Brazilian raisin, Venezuelan topo tono, Inca berry or Peruvian apple fruit, cherry and blueberry.
The hide contains vitamin C, which boosts immunity, supports the circulatory system and strengthens joints and bones. It is also a treasure trove of vitamin A, which also boosts the immune system and affects proper skin condition and vision after dark. The fruits of the Peruvian mushroom are also a source of B vitamins.
The mushroom can be used as a base for preserves - jams, preserves, jellies, etc., and even tinctures. It can also be an addition to salads, cakes, as well as to decorate traditional pastries. Dried apple grapes are a healthy alternative to chips, sticks, crackers and other unhealthy snacks. Dried fruits can also be added to yogurt or granola.
