Millet is the basis of vegan pepper. It makes up over 30% of the product, giving it the desired texture and nutritional value. It's not called the queen of groats for nothing. It is made from millet, probably the oldest cultivated grain. Unfortunately, although it is very accessible and cheap, it is very rarely present at our tables. Literature data indicate that it may be a source of protein for vegans and vegetarians. 100g of grits contain over 10g of protein. Of course, it also contains large amounts of complex carbohydrates and fiber. The latter component deserves special mention. Many studies have shown the positive effects of fiber on health, especially with regard to the functioning of the digestive system. Scientists have shown that it stimulates the peristaltic movements of the intestines, increases the volume of food, prevents constipation and diarrhea, and plays an important role in preventing colon cancer. In addition, the nutritional value tables also show a significant proportion of B vitamins in millet. Of particular note are thiamine, niacin, riboflavin and vitamin B6. 100g of groats can provide over 25% of the daily requirement for these nutrients. Research also shows that the ingredients in millet have antioxidant effects. This means that consuming millet can reduce oxidative stress in our body.
Vegan pepper also contains a lot of vegetables, including tomatoes. Everyone knows that vegetables are healthy, but few really know how many treasures an ordinary tomato hides. The literature shows that they are a very good source of vitamin C, vitamin E and beta-carotene. They also contain the extremely valuable lycopene. It is a carotenoid compound with very powerful antioxidant properties. Scientific research has shown that it has a significant impact on reducing oxidative stress by neutralizing reactive oxygen species. In addition, it has been shown in experiments to reduce the invasiveness of cancer cells. It is worth mentioning that lycopene is much more available to our body from tomato products than from fresh vegetables.
Another valuable vegetable found in vegan peppers is red peppers. This ingredient is also rich in antioxidants such as carotenoids and vitamin C. Consumption of this vegetable can interfere with the proper functioning of the immune system, regulate cholesterol levels and slow down the aging process of healthy cells.
In vegan pepper you can also find it extremely high in beta-carotene, carrots and onions full of antibacterial compounds. There are also natural spices such as garlic, black pepper, sea salt and sesame.
