Such a concentration was made possible by the use of the "rectification/stripping" process, ie the fractionation according to the relative amount of the ingredients and the use of suitable plant parts for their production. Each process step is fed with the product (distillate) of the previous process. This process is repeated until the desired concentration is reached. Both lower and higher concentrations of carvacrol are blends of natural oils with synthetic carvacrol derived from D-limonene. Synthetic oils have a different smell and taste. Oils with oregano, which are a blend of natural and synthetic carvacrol, contain up to 35% natural and 65% synthetic carvacrol.
