DESCRIPCIÓN

Hidróxido de sodio gránulos 1kg BIOMUS

El hidróxido de sodio se puede se encuentra bajo los nombres: sosa cáustica, soda cáustica, soda cáustica, sosa cáustica
La sosa cáustica sólida es una sustancia cristalina de color blanco. Es higroscópico y se combina fácilmente con el dióxido de carbono del aire (formando una capa de carbonato de sodio). Guárdelo en frascos bien cerrados. Se disuelve muy bien en agua, libera cantidades significativas de calor y forma sosa cáustica, es decir, un líquido inodoro, incoloro, no inflamable que reacciona con ácidos, óxidos no metálicos e hidróxidos anfóteros, formando sales de sodio. Se siente resbaladizo y causa quemaduras. Es corrosivo para los metales, especialmente en presencia de humedad. Reacciona fácilmente con metales con propiedades anfóteras para liberar hidrógeno (p. ej., con aluminio y circonio para formar arcilla y circonatos, respectivamente). Forma sales con ácidos orgánicos débiles (por ejemplo, fenoles y nitrometano). Bajo la influencia de NaOH, los no metales se desproporcionan (por ejemplo, el fósforo blanco hervido con solución de NaOH da fosfato y fosfato, y el azufre se disuelve en solución de NaOH para formar sulfuro y sulfito).

APLICACIONES
La soda cáustica se utiliza como componente de preparaciones para la limpieza de tuberías de aguas residuales. También participa en la fabricación de jabón, sílice fundida, tintes y rayón. Además, se utiliza en la producción de caucho, tratamiento de aguas con fines industriales y en la industria papelera.
