Recipes for delicious and refreshing iced teas
Slowly, as winter passes, the days of warming ourselves on frosty afternoons after returning from work, trying to warm ourselves with hot teas infused with warming ingredients like cinnamon, chili, or ginger, are fading into oblivion. With the arrival of spring and the promise of a hot summer, we prefer to search for ways to refresh ourselves. Everyone knows that plain spring water is the best way to hydrate a thirsty body, but sometimes we crave something other than ice water. Carbonated drinks aren't the healthiest, and we don't always feel like drinking juice from a carton. Iced tea is the perfect solution. Making iced tea on a hot day not only perfectly hydrates the body but also provides it with health-promoting ingredients. It quickly quenches thirst, tastes delicious, is healthy, and, incidentally, we decide whether and how much to sweeten it with sugar or a healthier substitute. Plus, it can't get boring because we can prepare it in so many different ways. Here are some of them.
Delicious ice cream recipes tea
Green tea with added lime and fresh mint
It's a refreshing, light drink made from green tea, which itself is slightly acidic. It's worth choosing green tea with a floral aroma, such as green tea with Polish flowers.
Will be required:
- 2 tablespoons green tea ,
- 2 limes,
- a handful of mint leaves,
- Liters of boiled water,
- 2 tablespoons sugar ,
- Ice cubes.
Boil the water and let it cool. Brew the green tea leaves separately for about 5 minutes, then remove them, add sugar, wait until they cool, and mix with water. Add lime juice to the cooled tea. The tea is best served in tall glasses filled with ice and topped with mint leaves.
Thai-style iced tea:
Thai iced tea recipe – traditional Thai iced tea. Ceylon tea is used for preparation.
- 2 tablespoons of Ceylon black tea,
- Cardamom seeds ,
- Anise star,
- 2 tablespoons coconut milk,
- a spoonful of condensed milk,
- spoon of sugar,
- Ice cubes.
Brew the tea in a large pot with boiling water, adding cardamom and anise, for about 5 minutes. After straining out the coffee grounds, add the condensed milk and sugar, stir vigorously until the ingredients are completely dissolved, and wait until the infusion has cooled. Fill the glasses with ice, pour in the finished, cooled drink, and top with coconut milk.
White tea with refreshing watermelon
Chilled watermelon is one of the most refreshing fruits. Combined with a delicate white tea and ice cubes, it's a perfect combination. To prepare, we'll need:
- half a watermelon,
- two or three white tea bags
- Lemon,
- Water, about half a liter,
- Sugar,
- Ice cubes.
Place the diced watermelon half into a food container and freeze it in the freezer. Pour boiling water over white tea and let it steep for one minute. Add sugar if desired and let the tea cool. Fill glasses with ice and frozen watermelon cubes. Serve the resulting drink with a lemon wedge.
Iced tea with exotic fruits
Fruit teas are perfect for making iced tea. They perfectly quench thirst and provide the body with vitamins, especially vitamin C.
- 2 teaspoons of your favorite fruit tea in half a liter of water,
- half a mango,
- a few slices of pineapple,
- Peach,
- spoon of honey,
- Ice cubes.
Pour boiling water over the tea and let it steep for about 3-5 minutes. After this time, remove the dry ingredients and let the tea cool. Add honey and mix thoroughly. Fill the glass with diced exotic fruits and ice cubes, then pour the cooled fruit tea over it.
Cold Brew – an alternative to tea brewed with boiling water
Cold-brewed tea is quite unusual due to the way it is prepared: the dried tea is poured over with cold water and left to stand for an extended period of time, from 3 to 12 hours. Tea macerated in this way is delicate and free of any subtle bitterness. This beverage can be made from any tea, black or green:
- about 10 g of white tea,
- Strawberries, raspberries, frozen or fresh blueberries,
- 300 ml cold water,
- 15 ml of your favorite sweet syrup ,
- fresh mint leaves,
- Ice cubes.
Pour 200 ml of water over the tea, cover, and refrigerate for three hours. After this time, add selected fruits to the glass, mix them with a spoon, add ice cubes, and then pour in the tea essence and sweet syrup. Top up with water and stir until the fruits are blended with the remaining ingredients. The drink can be garnished with fresh mint leaves.
Iced tea is a great alternative to water or fruit juices, and iced tea, in particular, can be prepared in many unique ways. To make this type of drink, we can use any of our favorite ingredients, and the only limit may be our imagination. Iced tea can be perfectly prepared from almost any dried ingredients. These can be black, white, green, fruit, and even herbal teas such as refreshing mint, lemon balm with orange, or chamomile, as well as teas with added citrus and exotic fruits, such as lemon peel, dried orange, pineapple, or grapefruit. We can also add dried flowers to the tea mixture. Instead of sugar, we can also sweeten iced tea with honey or sweet syrup, such as agave or maple syrup. If the drink we are preparing contains pieces of fruit or dried flowers, it is worth showcasing them and serving the drink in a transparent pitcher and glasses. Then it will not only taste delicious but also look beautiful and impressive.
