Henna: eine pflanzliche Methode zum Färben

Henna has been known for thousands of years for its diverse cosmetic and medicinal uses - first gaining popularity in its native Asia, particularly in India, where it is used for ritual tattooing, among other things, and then in Europe and beyond World.

Dying hair with henna - both hairstyles and eyebrows - is a practice that is gradually gaining popularity along with the spread of awareness of various aspects of harmful substances contained in conventional synthetic dyes and dyes. You can get a beautiful, durable and natural color with henna-based paint - why do we need chemicals?

Why would you dye your hair with henna?

Henna does not offer as wide a range as we know from conventional hair dyes, but it ensures that the coloring is not only aesthetic, but also has a caring value. Henna is also perfect for people who want to dye gray hair and for allergy sufferers. Applied to the hairstyle, henna bonds with the keratin in the hair to form a permanent layer of color that protects and strengthens the hairstyle rather than weakening it like traditional dyes do.

Henna as a conditioner

Regular use of henna strengthens and regenerates the hair as it helps retain moisture inside, nourishing it and maintaining an appropriate, healthy response (which in turn is very important for the condition of the scalp). The preparation acts as a protective barrier for each individual hair - just like a conditioner! And that's exactly how it gives the strands a nice shine and makes them easier to comb.

White hair? No problem!

Grey hair is always a challenge for dyes, but not for henna. Not only does it effectively cover all gray hairs, but thanks to its conditioning properties it also makes them look and feel much better and even - thanks to the way henna covers individual hairs - they appear thicker.

Say goodbye to dandruff in style!

Henna's antibacterial and antifungal properties make it a great solution for people struggling with dandruff. Because henna helps moisturize both the hair and scalp, it prevents the scalp from drying out, which is one of the main causes of dandruff.

How do you dye your hair with henna?

The great thing about henna is that it doesn't stain basically anything that isn't skin or hair, making it easy and stress-free to apply (especially during the cleansing phase!). The whole process is very simple. First, mash the henna lump with water in a saucepan set on gas - so it has the consistency of melted chocolate. Then, put on gloves and apply a thick layer of the mixture to all (clean and dry) hair, from roots to ends, avoiding the ears, neck and face (it's worth oiling it with an oil or to protect against a greasy cream). .

The warmer the mixture, the better the effect, but don't apply it hot, as burns are not pleasant! Depending on how intense the color should be, we should leave the henna on the hair for one to two hours. After this time you can wash your hair - done! You may have to wait a bit for the effect: Especially with darker shades, such as Khadi Black Henna, which you can buy in our shop, it takes up to two days. until the final color has developed.
