Garlic belongs to the amaryllis family. There are about 700 of its species in the world. Although this spice is now easily available all over the world, it has its origins in Asia. The first cultures of this plant were probably in China or Siberia. Under natural conditions, garlic is found in the northern hemisphere, with a special focus on the temperate zone. Although few of us know it, this plant contains quite a lot of valuable nutrients for health. We not only find valuable flavonoid compounds there, but also amino acids and mucilage compounds. It is also important to know that regular consumption of garlic can provide our body with vitamin A, a large dose of vitamin C and some B vitamins. The mineral salts contained in this spice are also important for our health. It turns out that garlic contains both magnesium, calcium and potassium. Thanks to the ingredients mentioned above, garlic can undoubtedly be called a vitamin bomb. However, its most valuable element are essential oils, which are responsible for the characteristic smell.
