NFO® KRILL OIL Astaxanthin is a carefully selected, high-quality combination of pure, concentrated fish and krill oils with a bioavailability of nearly 100%. The krill oil comes from deep-sea krill from the Atlantic - the cleanest waters on Earth - and is a rich source of unique phospholipids and the powerful antioxidant astaxanthin - the organic pigment that gives Atlantic krill its bright red color. Astaxanthin neutralizes free radicals in the body, thereby influencing the overall well-being of the body. Its antioxidant effect is 300 times stronger than that of vitamins A and E, 34 times stronger than coenzyme Q10, and 15 times stronger than lycopene.

1. The origin of the raw material: NFO does not use external raw material sources, but only a known and reliable one - the headquarters of NFO INTERNATIONAL AS is located in Trondheim - the center of Norwegian aquaculture and fisheries as well as Norwegian salmon exports. For the production of NFO® Omega-3, only fish that are at a low level of the food chain and contain only very small amounts of pollutants such as mercury, dioxins, and PCBs (polychlorinated biphenyls) are used - these are chemically resistant substances that easily accumulate in living organisms such as fish and belong to the group of substances whose production and use are banned. Nevertheless, they are still used in large quantities. It is estimated that of the approximately 1.5 million tons of PCBs produced worldwide, two-thirds are still in use or in the environment.)


2. Time from catch to the start of oil extraction: the shorter, the better. And why? The shorter the time, the lower the TOTOX parameter (i.e., the degree of oxidation or purity - the lower this parameter, the lower the degree of oxidation). The TOTOX value of a fish in a body of water is zero. The minimum TOTOX value of fish after catching: 4. The TOTOX value of all NFO products is usually 6 / 6.5 (based on laboratory data), although EU regulations allow a maximum value of 20. How is this possible? 3. Production technology: NFO uses a multi-stage purification of the raw material, including a molecular distillation stage that guarantees the highest degree of purification of fish oil from harmful impurities. Furthermore, the manufacturer NFO INTERNATIONAL AS strictly adheres to Norwegian national and EU regulations on biochemical purity. Production takes place in a Pharmatech AS factory, which is owned by a family member, so production is under their own control.


4. Capsule formulation: Capsules in a gel shell - their quality is determined by the degree of protection of the oil inside from oxygen; the physicochemical parameters are also important - the content of all polyunsaturated fatty acids (including Omega-3) in a poor-quality capsule decreases very quickly over time.
