This unassuming plant contains a wealth of vitamins and minerals that have beneficial effects on the entire body, while being low in calories. It provides nutrients such as:

- Supporting the proper functioning of the entire digestive system – the essential oils contained in black beet have a positive effect on the proper functioning of the stomach and intestines, regulate the digestive process and also improve appetite.
- Anti-inflammatory and antiviral – phytoncides contained in the plant inhibit the development of viruses, bacteria and fungi, help relieve sore throats and tiring coughs.
The use of black beets in the kitchen
Black beets have an intense and quite spicy flavor and are very juicy. They are perfect as a side dish for salads and salads. You can grate them on a coarse grater, season them with salt, garlic, and a little sugar, and mix them with natural yogurt. They also taste great combined with apples, carrots, corn, fresh and pickled cucumbers, and beets. You can also add a hard-boiled egg. Boiled beets can be combined with boiled potatoes and, with the addition of nutmeg and white pepper, create a healthy version of the puree. Black beets can also be baked or sliced, fried in a pan with herbs, and served at dinner as a side dish to fish or meat.
Expressive spreads for sandwiches – cottage cheese and spreads of all kinds – taste excellent based on this plant.
A vegetable like black radish isn't as popular in Poland as its other variety, red radish, which is a shame, because its nutritional value is truly invaluable. Even children under one year old can eat it. However, people suffering from stomach ulcers, diarrhea, or heartburn should be careful.
