Morning rituals – How to start the day right
A good start to the day is the best recipe for well-being, energy, and performance. However, mornings aren't always successful. Perhaps we didn't sleep through the night because the neighbors were having a party? Another dog barking all night? It's gray, cold, and rainy outside, and all we dream of is staying in bed as long as possible, ideally all day. It can help to develop a few morning rituals that make the start of the day orderly, free from chaotic rushing, rushed eating, stress, and the struggle with time. Here are some examples of tried-and-tested methods to start your day right.
alarm
First of all, you need time for rituals. We can't wake up at the last minute after repeatedly using the snooze function on our phone as an alarm. Contrary to appearances, such extra naps don't make us more rested. On the contrary, they make us "broken" and only more irritable when it turns out it's late and we have little time to get ready. If we want to gain more time in the morning to slowly drink coffee and breakfast in peace, there's no other option than to set the alarm early enough and as far away from the bed as possible so that we have to get up to turn it off. Then we have a better chance of not automatically switching on an extra nap because we're already up.
water glass
Everyone has heard about drinking water upon waking. After a night's sleep, the body is dehydrated, and a glass of water also has a positive effect on bowel function and kidney filtration. Everyone can choose their favorite water—with lemon, apple cider vinegar, ginger, a teaspoon of honey, cold water, rose water , or plain—and even tap water, if tap water is safe to drink in our city. The most important thing is that drinking it is pleasant and becomes a habit.
gymnastics
If you've managed to get up early, it's worth devoting 15-20 minutes to morning stretching and calisthenics. Yoga combined with meditation is very popular, but a set of our favorite basic exercises will also do the trick. These can be simple bends, squats, and even jumping jacks. Simple exercises wake up the body and start producing endorphins, which give us positive energy for the rest of the day. However, if we're not fans of exercise, we can replace it with a brisk morning walk.
Shower
If the exercises haven't gotten us up yet, a quick shower will certainly suffice. Preferably cool (it doesn't have to be ice water). This will stimulate circulation, the entire body, and our mind.
Coffee and breakfast
It's finally time for some fun. Of course, breakfast should be healthy and nutritious, like oatmeal , millet with a handful of fresh fruit, a smoothie with vegetables, and fruit juice, but also those that we enjoy most and that we like best. It's important to eat slowly and with pleasure. Add some aromatic coffee , and your day will instantly be better.
Finally, it's worth remembering that it's best to start preparing for morning rituals... in the evening. To save time in the morning, you can prepare your clothes for the next day the day before, spend a few minutes "hug" and tidying up your apartment, so you don't start the day cleaning right after you wake up. If you have children, prepare them in the evening as well. This will allow us to reduce the morning chaos and stress. Over time, these habits will become routine for us. Apparently, every famous and successful person has their own morning habits. And there are even those who find half an hour in the morning to read books in bed.
