Devil's Claw - Properties of a plant from South Africa
Also known as devil's claw, the plant is also known in Poland as devil's claw. As you might guess, its specific name comes from its unusual structure—the pericarp of the devil's claw consists of numerous hook-shaped appendages resembling claws or hooks. It occurs naturally in South Africa, where it is a desert plant. Locals have used devil's claw for medicinal purposes for centuries, particularly to relieve pain and joint disorders. In fact, today the dried, powdered, and processed root is available in capsules and tablets, ointments, and creams. It has a number of health-promoting properties. Let's examine when and for what purpose it is worth using.
