The hottest months of the year are upon us. This time of year, it's worth paying special attention to what and how much we drink to efficiently adapt to the body's heat-induced energy levels. To prevent dehydration, it should provide a constant supply of fluids, preferably clean ones. So... how to drink more water? Here are some ways to stay hydrated.
How quickly does the body hydrate?
It is best to consume water regularly and supply it to the body gradually, drinking small sips throughout the day. It is important to eat a balanced diet rich in vegetables, fruit and light soups. This happens to me too, but we lack the time to complete this commitment and then I experience symptoms of dehydration such as pain, headaches, difficulty concentrating, low mood, fatigue, and hunger, which the body often confuses with thirst. It is worth mentioning that by the time cravings arise, we know we are already slightly dehydrated. In such a situation, pay attention to coconut water, which is a naturally isotonic drink containing electrolytes that can be dissolved in a glass of water to quickly replenish minerals.
What if... I don't like the water?
Often, instead of clean water, we reach for juices and sparkling drinks. It's no secret that they contain a lot of sugar and other substances that aren't necessarily what we're after. How did I like the water? It's definitely not the best solution to buy flavored water - it also contains a lot of sugar (unless the manufacturer has noticed otherwise). If strawberries are in season, you can add them to chilled, sparkling water or regular water, but this is where our imaginations are limited. Basil, mint, rosehip petals, cucumber, lime, ginger, or pineapple are just a few of the extras that will transform water into an exotic, healthy drink. Pay attention to your preferences and don't be afraid to mix your own flavors. Now you'll find your new favorite drink. If you have a bit of time, get ready to make homemade diluted juices - classic raspberry, gooseberry, or sea buckthorn, or simply buy good, organic juices without sugar, in short, the ingredients.
How to remember to hydrate
There are calculators available online that will help you calculate the optimal amount of fluids you need. However, every adult should drink 5 to 10 glasses of water a day, depending on body weight, physical exertion, and weather conditions. Most people are conscious of this because sometimes it happens that they forget. With the help of smartphone apps, they regularly send them reminders. Another, less technologically advanced way to remember to drink water is to place full glasses of water by the bed every day. Drink about 200 ml of water one minute after waking up. This is a very healthy habit that can be even better if we supplement it with half a lemon juice. It's better at getting up than a morning cup of espresso, speeds up digestion, and provides vitamin C.
Have always water through myself
And think about the environment! A wide variety of bottles are available on the market: filtered and made from Tritan, safe for human health, thermally treated with stainless steel, available in every possible style and color, plain water bottles, even glass sports bottles, while these are the most eco-friendly, made from sugar cane sugar, which is easily recycled. You can also fill a jug, carafe, or large glass in the morning and try to do it all in the evening.
