Seit dem 4. Jahrhundert bekannt und von Anfang an in der Volksmedizin eingesetzt – lernen Sie die Baikal-Schilddrüse kennen

The first documented mention of Baikal skullcap appears as early as the 4th century in the alchemical writings of Japanese and Chinese folk medicine practitioners. This plant was used to relieve fever and stomach problems. It was even used as an alternative to the unpopular bloodletting by people struggling with high blood pressure. Baikal skullcap roots were also used to prepare infusions.

What exactly is Baikal skullcap ?

The scientific name of this plant is Scutellaria Baicalensis Georgie. This plant is not particularly large, reaching only 25 to 60 cm in height, and is native to Eastern Siberia, Transbaikal, Northern China, Mongolia, and Japan.

It is worth noting that it is characterized by a very rich chemical composition, especially containing extremely valuable flavonoids in very large quantities. These are primarily lipophilic flavones, which are compounds with triple A-ring hydroxylation, including wogonin, baicalein, and their glycosides.

In addition, Baikal skullcap contains:

  • Baicalin,
  • Vogonoside,
  • scutules,
  • Oroxylin,
  • Slkapflavon,

Its content is about 20%, of which 12-17% is baicalin.

It's worth mentioning that Baikal skullcap has been extensively researched for its effectiveness and positive effects on the human body. Baicalin, which is found in Baikal skullcap, has an anti-inflammatory effect and helps with allergy symptoms as it is a powerful antioxidant . The compound also improves skin activity by strengthening its structure and stimulating natural metabolic processes.

  • antiviral,
  • lowers body temperature,
  • lowers high blood pressure
  • relieves cardiac arrhythmias and atrial fibrillation,
