Wie verwendet man Ingwersirup?

Ginger syrup is one of those products that can come in several different forms, even though they share a common name. You can find both 100% syrups, which contain only ginger root and lemon juice, and sugar syrups, which are used as an addition to sweet dishes and desserts.

Ginger syrup - use and composition of the syrup

Depending on the form, good-quality ginger syrup can be used as an additive to beverages or various dishes and snacks. However, its properties depend primarily on the product's composition. You may find the following on sale:

  • So-called "bartender" syrups – these are usually a simple ginger syrup for drinks and cold beverages, based on glucose-fructose syrup and often supplemented with flavorings, colorings, or caramel. Therefore, it's worth avoiding such products at all costs and looking for valuable substitutes.
  • Thick sugar-based syrups (e.g., sugar cane syrup) with a liquid consistency, most commonly used as an additive to dishes such as pancakes, crepes, fruit salads, or desserts. This type of syrup is a valuable alternative to white sugar and a flavorful base for dressings or marinades.
  • Ginger juice-based syrups are the most valuable among those listed, rich in valuable nutrients naturally found in ginger. These recipes can be free of added flavors, sugar, or other artificial additives. They are perfect for adding to drinks, water, and tea—though it's important to note that they don't sweeten them.

Ginger syrup: nutritional properties

How do I choose ginger syrup ? The nutritional properties of this type of product depend on its composition. The presence of valuable ingredients determines the syrup's effect, for example, on the quality of digestive comfort or its taste. When shopping, it's worth reading the labels carefully and choosing products with a short composition: sugar-free syrups or those with raw sugar, such as cane sugar. Unlike white sugar and synthetic sweeteners, raw sugar provides the body with valuable ingredients such as magnesium, potassium, iron, and calcium in small amounts.

Recall that many dishonest manufacturers choose to cut costs, for example, by replacing high-quality ingredients with cheaper alternatives. One of these is glucose-fructose syrup, the excessive consumption of which can negatively affect the liver or fat metabolism in the body.

Ginger syrup for tea and more - home remedies to strengthen immunity

Especially in autumn and winter, ginger tea syrup is often used as a home remedy to boost immunity. Natural ginger extract can actually support the body on multiple levels. Ginger contains a collection of essential oils and resins such as gingerol.

  • Ginger bulbs are rich in vitamins C, E, A, and K, as well as B vitamins, folic acid, calcium, phosphorus, iron, and potassium.
  • Ginger has been valued for thousands of years as a spice with powerful antibacterial and antioxidant properties that support the immune system.
  • The ingredients contained in ginger root support the smooth functioning of the digestive system and, among other things, protect against the effects of indigestion and stimulate the production of gastric juices.
  • Regularly consumed ginger stimulates the so-called processes of thermogenesis (heat production in the body), which stimulate the metabolism and support fat digestion.

Good quality ginger syrup not only helps to enhance the aroma of prepared dishes and drinks, but also complements them with a dose of valuable ingredients.
